PLEIN-AIR WATERCOLOUR PAINTING on Tuesdays at the HUB
Six Sessions of Watercolour (May/June 2019)
During these 6 sessions you will have studio time and practice to paint ‘en plein-air’ (outdoors). Here some of the exiting topics which will be covered:
- Explore watercolour washes and wet on wet technique;
- Bold colour in the work of Bob Rudd;
- Buildings and street life;
- Local landscape/ sky/ trees;
- Painting water – reflections, ripples, canal boats.
When: Tuesdays, 14, 21 May, 4, 11, 18, 25 June 2019
Where: Creative Arts Hub, Mirfield
Time: 10.00 – 3.00 pm
Level: suitable for all, materials included (you might want to bring your own paints if you have them)
A minimum group of 7 is needed to run the course.

The workshops are run by a practicing artist and an experienced tutor from Leeds College of Art, Julia Borodina. Julia has graduated from Omsk University, Russia and then in 2001 came to study for her MA in Painting in the UK. She has a passion for colour, dynamic brushstrokes and loose painting technique. She has an extensive teaching experience which includes working with numerous art Colleges specialising in Painting and Drawing. Julia’s work has been exhibited at The Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colour Annual Exhibition and at The Royal Society of Birmingham Artists.
