5 week Day course
Tuesday (26 Sep, 3 Oct, 10 Oct, 17 Oct, Half Term, 31 October, 7 Nov, 14 Nov, 21 Nov, 28 Nov, 5 Dec)
Have you been mystified by the magic of watercolour and often felt it is too unreachable to be explored on your own? Join our 10 week workshops and discover your passion for colour washes, develop truly unique brush marks and enjoy the amazing feeling of painting in this awe-inspiring medium!
Each session will start from the specially designed exercises to support your learning, leading to independent practical work.
There will be on-going referencing to inspiring watercolour practitioners and a discussion of their methods.
Reference material and handouts provided for visual support.
The workshops are run by a practicing artist and an experienced tutor from Leeds College of Art, Julia Borodina. Julia has graduated from Omsk University, Russia and then in 2001 came to study for her MA in Painting in the UK. She has a passion for colour, dynamic brushstrokes and loose painting technique. She has an extensive teaching experience which includes working with numerous art Colleges specialising in Painting and Drawing. Julia’s work has been exhibited at The Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colour Annual Exhibition and at The Royal Society of Birmingham Artists.
